Tokyo

Im on vacation for 2 weeks in Tokyo and so far it was been super! On Saturday I meet up with Kat (aka Pinku) . I had a great time. Kat took me to her LYS, a huge craft shop with some much yarn, I didn:t know where to start. I:ll have to wonder back there before I leave and take another look around. The selection of clover products was huge, they had stuff I have never seen before and about 30-40% cheaper than at home.

The situation on NORO surprised me, to say the least. Kat said it wasn:t popular here, and it worked out to about the same price as at home. That was a little disappointing, but Japan has so much yarn to offer, Noro is just the beginning.

Then, we went to AVRIL . It was the best yarn store I have ever been to and will likely ever go to. The yarn is to die for. i bought 2 yarns, and a little grab bag for $6. (pictures so come) Its hard to describe、 I suggest a visit, its well worth it.

Kat then showed me around Kichijoji, it is filled with big department stores, but has a collection of little craft stores. great area for shopping and looking around.

pictures to come (when I get home in September, I have no idea how to post on this computer)

THANK YOU AGAIN, KAT!!

Ripping it out.......

It's all comin' out Posted by Hello

I started to schaucho (a shawl and a poncho together) and I decided to change the original design and knit it from the bottom to top (the original idea was do knit it left to right), but I wanted to do a twisted stitch pattern, and this required (to my knowledge) doing it bottom to top. (If this doesn't make sense, it will, when I'm done and you get to see a picture of it.)

Anyway, this knitting was creating a worse roll that I thought it would. I guess you could say, I HATE IT!! I'm not pleased with it at all, but really had to come to terms with ripping it out, since each row is 200 sts and I'm at about row 40. Oh well, no sense knitting the whole thing if I'm not going to be happy with it...........

I have also ordered a poncho kit made with Rowan Cotton tape off ebay from knitomatic (Haley) . She is super super nice, and my sister said her store in T.O. is great! I know I don't need any more yarn, but I just think this is so cute and it's a really good deal!

Briana picked this Sublime Stitching patterns up at Lettuce Knit in T.O. I think they are just great, and can't wait to get started on them. We are both off to Alberta for a week, so hopefully we can get some embroidery patterns gone!

Briana also brought me home yarn from T.O. I'm ready to do Pia and Coronet.

Oh and I got 7 balls of Noro color 90 (yes, it is discontinued). I don't really need it but at 20% off who can resist!!
